Rebecca (Bec) Carland is co-curator of Treasures of The Natural World. She is a history curator with broad responsibility across the collections. Much of her work involves community engagement which involves establishing and nurturing relationships both locally and internationally to seek guidance and permission to share language, knowledge, and story: from youth protesters in country Victoria to First Nations communities across the globe, the work is complex and rewarding.
Hayley Webster is the Manager of the Museums Victoria Library, which includes a rare book collection specialising in Natural History. Hayley is the Victorian representative for ALIA Rare Books and Special Collections and the editor of Bibliographical Society of Australia and New Zealand’s newsletter, Broadsheet.
Robin Wilson is currently describing new species of marine invertebrates (marine segmented worms, or polychaetes) from recent explorations of deep-sea environments off eastern Australia. Previously his research has included environmental studies of Port Phillip Bay and description of new species from voyages on Australia’s western continental margin, in Bass Strait and in the deep Great Australian Bight. Robin is focused on making online identification guides available to all. Robin regularly uses the volume of the Challenger Reports that has been on his desk for the past 30 years.
