The Chaffey Trail and Mildura Day
October 1 - October 31Free
The beautiful community of Mildura wouldn’t be what it is today with the work of the Chaffey Brothers.
Mildura Day commemorates the signing of the indenture between George and WB Chaffey – the Chaffey brothers – and the Victorian Government in 1887.
This brought not only the Chaffey Family together, but overseas Sister City representatives from Upland, California.
In 2022, The Chaffey Trail Reference Group will be celebrating the 135th anniversary of the signing of the indenture on May 31st – Mildura Day 2022.
Join us to celebrate this event and connect via our new website – launching soon – which celebrates the Chaffey Brothers and will include virtual tours, interactive education resources and self-guided walking tours.
You can also listen to the commemorative song, written by local musician Geoff Evans, and performed as part of 2012’s 125th anniversary of Mildura Day.
