Gippsland revealed – an Image a Day from rare archives

October 1 - October 31

Free

The Gippsland and Regional Studies Collection (GRSC) is incorporated into the Federation University Library at Churchill.

It holds a highly significant archive, including photographs from the Carlyon Collection.

In the early 1960s, Margaret Carlyon and Don Ewart presented the local TV series “Gippsland Through the Path of Time”, and the early photographs copied at that time, plus ones taken then, are held.

For History Month the GRSC will post a photo a day from the Carlyon Collection on their Facebook page. Comments will be most welcome there, and it will be possible to request photos from particular areas if held, be posted. There is also a good chance we may move on to another collection or two that have not seen a lot of light in recent years. Stay tuned!
