SUMMARY:Daylesford Museum and the Swiss Italian Festa 2026
DESCRIPTION:Could your family be part of the Swiss Italian story?\nFor generations\, Swiss Italian families have helped shape Hepburn Springs\, Daylesford and the surrounding district — and you might be surprised by what you can discover about your own family connection.\nAs part of the Swiss Italian Festa 2026\, the Daylesford Museum research team is inviting people to explore their family history and trace their connections to the Swiss Italian families who made this region home.\nWhether you know your family has Swiss Italian roots\, have an old surname you’d like to investigate\, or simply want to learn more about where your family story began\, the volunteer research team may be able to help.

SUMMARY:Plotted\, an exhibition of maps and plans from our archive.
DESCRIPTION:Saturdays | 11:00 AM to 03:00 PM\nInterested in the history of Daylesford? Daylesford Museum’s latest fascinating exhibition\, Plotted\, is a must-see. It showcases many hand-drawn maps\, surveyor plans\, and photographs related to civic development\, which were created during the early 1860s and remaining half of the 19th century. \nLocal Government employed engineers and surveyors to define roadways\, bridges\, drainage\, municipal buildings\, and more. The exhibition includes early street maps indicating where huts\, houses\, and mining shafts were located. The plans for timber bridges over the region’s waterways are almost works of art. \nDaylesford Museum is home to the largest archive of historical artefacts and documents in the Central Highlands. Don’t miss this fascinating exhibition. \nLearn more at the event website: https://www.visithepburnshire.com.au/ATDW/Events/Plotted-Maps-Plans-and-Photos-from-the-Archive-Exhibition-6a878cdc76a6eefc36a8d3d3
