SUMMARY:Spiritualism in Brunswick
DESCRIPTION:Spiritualism – the religion that communicates with the dead – found one of its earliest and strongest footholds in Australia in Melbourne\, which quickly became the movement’s national centre. Alfred Deakin was a well-known follower. From the late nineteenth century\, séances\, mediums and churches flourished across the city\, making it a heartland of spirit communication. Within this story\, the Brunswick Spiritual Lyceum Church stands out. It still operates as a active church.\n\n\nBCHG is hosting a talk on Spiritualism in Brunswick by Professor Andrew Singleton from Deakin University. Andrew has presented and published extensively in these areas both nationally and internationally.
