In the October session of Bendigo’s “Discovering History” Series, hear from eminent historians and academics Leigh McKinnon (Golden Dragon Museum/Monash University) and Fiona Kinsey (Golden Dragon Museum/ La Trobe University) as they explore how photography and oral histories are piecing together our missing Chinese past. Leigh and Fiona will present recent research and expert insights on Bendigo’s lost Chinatown, the impacts of Chinese site removal in other goldfields towns and the power of citizen archives to address absences in historical records.
