Open House Latrobe open day
11th October, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Free
Hear the hammer strike, take your seat in an old schoolroom and watch 1800s clothing being sewn by hand.
Old Gippstown Heritage Park is celebrating History Month and Open House Latrobe with a weekend of displays, demonstrations and free entry.
Set across eight acres of parkland in Moe, the museum preserves 30 original relocated buildings dating from the 1840s to the 1930s. Together with the park’s artefact collection, they reveal how people lived, worked and built their communities across Gippsland.
On Sunday, 11 October from 10am to 2.30pm visitors can:
• Watch our blacksmith at work
• Join a historic school class
• See our heritage guides hand-sewing outfits from the 1800s
• Explore the buildings and collections throughout the park
This is an opportunity to see Gippsland’s history in action—not simply displayed behind glass.
Entry is free throughout the Open House Latrobe weekend. Bring the family and spend the day exploring Old Gippstown.
