The Early Days of Aeradio: Images from the Ivan Hodder Collection
24th October, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Free
In the late 1930s Ivan Hodder was a Radio Inspector in the newly-created Department of Civil Aviation. He was responsible for commissioning many of the first Aeronautical Radio (Aeradio) stations being constructed at that time. Also a keen photographer, Ivan left us with two photograph albums comprising a valuable record of the very beginnings of the Australian air traffic services system. The exhibition will also include a recording of Ivan talking about each of the photographs in his own words – a unique record indeed.
