Brunswick in the Great Depression Walking Tour
11th October, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
$15.00
Professor Joan Beaumont (author of Australia’s Great Depression) will conduct a walking tour of places of significance to Brunswick during the Great Depression of the 1930s. As an industrial suburb, Brunswick was badly affected by unemployment and was also a centre for political activity. This included the artist Noel Counihan famously having himself locked in a cage as part of a Free Speech protest. The cost of $15 includes an explanatory booklet.
