Tours of Waller House
11th October, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
$15 – $25
Immerse yourself in the lives of those who lived, created, loved, and lost in Waller House.
These small-group tours provide rare access to a largely unchanged artist’s home and studio, offering an intimate insight into the personal and creative lives of renowned artists Napier and Christian Waller, alongside Klytie Pate and Lorna Waller. Discover original artworks, mosaics, design processes and war memorial works, and experience the house not simply as a heritage site, but as a preserved moment in early to mid-20th century artistic life.
The tour also highlights the stories, architectural features and collection items uncovered by the National Trust team and dedicated volunteers as they continue to research, document and preserve this significant property.
Napier and Christian Waller’s murals, mosaics and stained-glass works adorn many of Melbourne’s most prominent buildings, and their art is represented in major galleries. Their Ivanhoe home and studio remains intact as a memorial, offering a rare glimpse into their artistic world.
Recognised on the Victorian Heritage Register, Waller House and its collection encompass all interior and exterior buildings, fixed and movable objects, and the heritage-listed garden — presenting a truly extraordinary piece of Victoria’s cultural history.
Tour Times: 10.00am , 11.15am , 12.45pm & 2pm. Duration 45-60 minutes.
